Christmas Day

Today was the coolest day.  I woke up and mommy showed me that I got some presents under the tree.  She dressed me up in a Christmas outfit and layed presents around me to take pictures. All I wanted to do was open them but I can't even get out of the bouncy,  I can't even sit up.  So mommy gets to hold and open all my presents.  Give me a few years and I'm be ripping through them all.     WOW!  I got some neat stuff.  Here are some photos of me with my presents.

My first visit with Santa!

Look at me!  I'm a big boy.  I sat on Santa's lap today.  I can't believe that there were bigger kids than me that didn't want to sit on Santa's lap.  They were crying but not me.  I was on a mission.  I told Santa that I've been a good boy this year and I already had my Christmas presents for this year but next year, I really want a baby sister for Christmas.    Santa said he couldn't make any promises but I'll have my fingers crossed.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

My 2nd cousin Quinten

Today I went to mommy's Aunt Mary's house.  She was having a Christmas gathering with her family. Mommy wanted to go because mommy's cousin Virginia had a baby 2 weeks before mommy did and I wanted to meet my 2nd cousin.  His name is Quinten and we had a fun time together.  I can't wait till we get older so we can play with trucks, cars, legos and more stuff. Here's a few photos of us together.  We're the future studs of America!

Aunt Wendy comes to visit

My Aunt Wendy came to visit me.  I was so excited to meet her.  I'm glad she waited to see me.  I was just a mere blob a few weeks ago.  Just lying there.  Now, I'm full of life and I like to smile a little.  My Aunt Wendy is so cool.  She played with me a lot and she brought me really cute Christmas presents. Aunt Wendy has great taste and mommy liked all the clothes she got me.  Now mommy can dress me up.    Thanks Aunt Wendy!  I love you!

Don't we look cute in this photo??

Family photo with bear bear

Mommy's friend Chris came over with his family to meet me.   They brought us a homemade meal for mommy and daddy.  Daddy said it was really good.  I could only smell it and it smelled so good.    My new friends name is Foster.  He's real nice and he likes the OU football team.  His dad would would yell "Boomer" and Foster would yell "Sooner".  Daddy was trying to get Foster to say Penn State but Foster was faithful to OU.  Don't tell daddy but my team is ASU.  Ha-Ha Mommy's friend Melanie got me some really cool Arizona outfits.  I have 2 AZ Cardinal onsies, an ASU sweatsuit,  and an AZ diamondbacks sweatsuit and bib.  I love them all.  I also have have a Penn State outfit and socks that my grandma got me.  I wear the socks but I can't fit in the outfit yet.  Soon though.

Anyway, the visit with Foster was nice and I look forward to seeing him again.  Before they left, his daddy took a family photo of us in front of the Christmas tree.  Say CHEESE!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Thanksgiving!  It's my 1st holiday with family visiting all at once.  For the first time, I got to meet my Great Grandma, Uncle Rick, Aunt Christine, and cousins Tracy and Ethan.  There were a lot of people around and the house smelled really good.  But I ended up sleeping most of the day.  I'm only 18 days old for goodness sakes.   My cousin Tracy took real good care of me all day long.  Here's a picture of us.

16 days old - My Christmas photo stamp

My mommy took so many pictures of me in my striped santa outfit.  She was trying to get the perfect picture of me to put on stamps.  She wanted to send them out with her Christmas cards but ran out of time so she only got to send out a few.  Next Christmas she'll have more time to order Christmas stamps of me and she will have them on all of her Christmas card envelopes.

Aren't I silly in this picture?  You gotta love me.

5 days old - All bundled up

Mommy and daddy swaddle me up for bed at night.   I feel so comfortable and secure.  I sleep really good and barely wake up at night for a feeding or a diaper change.  Mommy and daddy have me sleeping in their room in a bassinet that daddy slept in when he was a baby.   I love being near my mommy and daddy.

I'm only 5 days old in this picture.   Mommy caught me with my mouth open but i'm not the only one in the family who sleeps like this.

Welcome Cody

On Saturday, November 3rd Ken decided to make pot roast for dinner.  Right when he finished cooking,  and we were just about to sit down to dinner when my water broke.   After 3 hours of dealing with painful contractions and maybe a few spoonfulls of dinner, we mommy finally left for the hospital.  We got to the hospital around 8:30pm.  I  was admitted immediately.  THANK GOD!  I couldn't believe how strong the contractions were.    Once I got the epidural I  felt so much better.  Time went quickly.  It seemed like I blinked and it was time to push.  After a very hard and long labor, sweet little Cody Michael was born on Sunday, November 4th at 5:40am.
We are so happy to have Cody in our lives and we look forward to sharing his life with our family and friends.  If there are any photos in this blog that you like, please let us know.  I would be happy to e-mail one to you.

Love,
Ken, Jen and Cody

2 Days before I'm here!

So mommy's cooking dinner.  Little does she know that I'm almost here. Throughout her whole pregnancy, she kept asking the doctors how big I would be.  They kept reassuring her that I would be  only 7 - 8 lbs max.  Ha-Ha, do I have a surprise for them.
By the way, why is my mommy cooking?  Shouldn't she be sitting on the couch relaxing and eating ice cream?
