Hi Mrs. Melanie and Mr. Jeff

Today mommy and daddy took me to breakfast.  To my surprise Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Melanie from Arizona were waiting for us at the resturant.   Before I woke up this morning, mommy made me special gluten free/egg free pancakes.  She threw in a few blueberries for a little twist.  So once we got to the resturant, she pulled out my pancakes, pure maple syrup and some blueberries.  Mommy and daddy both had french toast which really looked good but I can't eat that.

It was really nice to see mommy's friends.  They talked but not for to long.  I decided to get really antsy and wiggly.  Mommy took me out of the highchair and I got to run around the restaurant and check out all the people.  Everytime I walked by a table someone said hi to me.  Then it was daddy's turn to chase me.  Normally mommy and daddy don't allow this but the restaurant was so dead and the few people that were there were having fun saying hi in fact a little girl got out of her seat just to say hi to me face to face.

So, mommy's visit with Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Melanie was short but a really good one.  They took some photos and then it was time to go.  Mrs. Melanie said they'd be back in September and she hopes we can meet up then.  Mommy told her that she was hoping that we might be able to visit Arizona this year before I turn 2.  Maybe in the fall when it's a little cooler.  We'll see.

Eye Doctor appointment

Back to the eye doctor for a quick check up.  My eyes have been poofy for a few days now and mommy was a little concerned since the left eye was  a little more poofy than the right eye.  So since it's been a few months since I visited the eye doctor, mom made an appointment.  I was so happy because daddy got to go to.  He got to sit with me in the big chair while the doctor checked me out.  The doctor asked a bunch of questions but after extensive review, said that my eyes are doing great.  He believes that my eyes are poofy because of me rubbing them all the time and the fact that I have allergies.  That's a relief.

So until I see him in 6 months, I got a thumbs up from the eye doctor.  Yea!

Video time

Ok, so grandma and daddy took me to the top of a hill in grandma's backyard and put me on this saucer thing.  They let go and I went zipping down the hill.  Whoa!  That was fast.  I don't think I like this very much.  But I'll try it again just to see.

Ya, no!   Not liking this at all.  I totally crashed and fell on my face.  I'm not doing this again.

Alright, they talked me into it and I actually really like this sled.  It's big and it doesn't spin around.  I was in total control.  In fact when I went down once, I wanted to go down again and again.  I really liked it.

Christmas time?

Since daddy was gone so much in December, we didn't have a chance to celebrate Christmas with family.  So today we opened presents and I got to celebrate Christmas with my grandma, granddad and great gram.

Afterwards, grandma made us a really nice dinner.  We had ham, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a few pies.  Grandma also made me some gluten free/egg free chocolate chip cookies.  Wow, those sure were yummy.  Dinner was great!  Thanks grandma!

Going to Grandma's house

Mommy and daddy took me to Grandma and Granddad's house today.  Mommy got off work early and we picked her up.  It took us a little longer than usual to get there because we had to stop for dinner.  I'm on a schedule and if I don't eat when I need to I get a little crabby.

So we stopped at cracker barrel.  Not mommy or daddy's favorite but they were trying to think of a place that would have something that I could eat and they did.  I got a grilled chicken and green beans.  The green beans were kind of yucky and the grilled chicken was just a little dry.  So far, out of all the restaurants that mommy and daddy goto that they actually didn't bring me my special food, Uno's is the best.  They have a really yummy grilled chicken and broccoli.

Anyway, we got to grandma and granddad's around 7pm.  I was so happy to see them and get out of my darn car seat.  This weekend is gonna be fun.  I see snow on the ground already.

Daddy's home

So mommy took me for a ride today.  It was really cold and windy outside.  I said to myself, what is she thinking bringing me out in the cold like this?  She drives and drives and finally gets to the airport.  Are we picking up daddy?  She pulls out the stroller and the phone rings.  Daddy is off the plane but going thru customs.  Mommy puts me in the stroller and off we go.  We waited and waited and waited.  Thank goodness mommy had some baked apples.  I needed to snack a bit while I was watching all these people walk by.  So I'm sitting there stuffing my face when mommy yells out  Daddy we're over here!  I was like what?  where?  what?  Look Cody....there's daddy.  Mommy took my apples because all I could do was reach out so I could get a big hug from daddy and that's exactly what I got.  The biggest hug ever!  My daddy is finally home.

Gluten free diet

S0 As you know, mommy has put me on a gluten free diet because I'm allergic to wheat.   So mommy has been doing a lot of research and a lot of shopping.  The photo above are a few of the products that mommy has found that so far seems to be working for me.  My absolute favorite are the Enjoy Life soft baked snickerdoodle cookies.  Every time I see her grab that box, I clap my hands together with delight.    They are so good!  Mommy hasn't made me the pancakes yet.  The mix calls for vegetable oil and most vegetable oil contains soy and I'm not suppose to have soy either.  So she's trying to figure out an alternative.  We also haven't had the lasagne yet.  But everything else shown, I've tried.  The bread is a little dry but mommy grills it for me and it tastes really good.  Hopefully I'll grow out of this soon and mommy can make me what everyone else eats like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or macaroni and cheese.   Mommy and daddy are going to try to make me baked mac and cheese with rice noodles when daddy gets home since I can eat cheese.      She says daddy makes it real tasty.  I can't wait!

Back to the sitter

So for the last 2 1/2 weeks, I've been hanging out with mommy and Aunt Wendy while the baby sitter was on vacation.  But now she's back and I had to go today.  The good thing is Aunt Wendy agreed to stay today and tomorrow so I can adjust back on my schedule.  It's tough since the last 2 weeks I've been getting up at 8:30am.  Before her vacation, I had to wake up at 6:30am and that's way to early.  Getting up at 8:30am is so much better.  Not only do I get a full night sleep, I wake up when I want to, then mommy feeds me which is so nice and then we get to play together.  Here's my schedule:

8:30am - wake up (never crying....always smiling)
9:00am - Breakfast - rice cereal with fruit
9:30 - 12 noon - Play/run errands/dr. appts/snack
NOON - Lunchtime - grilled cheese sandwhich (gluten free bread) with fruit
1pm - 3ish - nap time
3ish - 5pm - play
5:00 - 6:30ish - Dinner - various meals (mostly chicken, a veggie & either a potato or gluten free pasta.
7:00pm - bathtime
8:00-9:00pm - play, read stories, wind down
9:00pm - bedtime

It's a great schedule.  I don't wake up in the middle of the night.  I take really good naps and I don't scream or fuss at bedtime.

So, what is really nice about Aunt Wendy, she stayed while mommy went to work and took me to the sitter around 9:00am.    I got to sleep in and stay on my routine.  Thanks Aunt Wendy!

Thank you Aunt Wendy

Aunt Wendy has been doing some research for my gluten free diet to help mommy out.  Just because it's gluten free doesn't mean it's egg free and soy free.  So they're  working together to find me the best food and receipes.  Aunt Wendy found some chicken broth that was gluten free. She put chicken in the crock pot and added the chicken broth.  It was fabulous!!!  Mommy was so happy because baking chicken in the oven wasn't that easy.  Sometimes it would get so dry.  This really makes life easy for mommy.

Mommy's racking her brain

So mommy has been spending the last few days racking her brain to try to figure out different meals to feed me.  She's beginning to get a little frustrated because she's taken me to the allergist and he was absolutely no help.  Every time I accidently get wheat or soy, I itch myself like crazy.  Like the other day, mommy made me vegetable soup.  She was so happy.  She cut the potatoes up, added carrots, celery, cabbage, tomatoes, ground beef and beef broth.  It was so good but then I started itching.  Mommy just couldn't figure it out.  Aunt Wendy said, what's in the beef broth?  Mommy thought....and said,  I don't know.  I assumed it was just broth from beef but it turns out it had wheat in it.  ???  I just don't get it.  Mommy threw out the soup and made me chicken.  Poor mommy, she was so upset.  It's like wheat is in everything but mommy is determined to keep me happy and healthy.  So the research continues.

Your Kidding me?

So Aunt Wendy is baby sitting me again this week while Ms. Lusine is on vacation.  I'm sitting here eating one of my favorite breakfast foods, gluten free waffles when Aunt Wendy notices that I'm itching.  She thought that was odd since I was doing so well lately.  She decided to check the box that my waffles came in and sure enough, SOY was one ingredient.  Aunt Wendy called mommy and told her and mommy said, "your kidding me?!?!"  I guess it's back to the drawing board for mommy.

Mrs. Melanie - look at me

Mrs. Melanie and Mr. Jeff got mommy this outfit for me at her baby shower.  She waited and waited.  Finally I can wear it.  Look at me.  I'm an Arizona fan!

Move over bottom row, 8th tooth coming in

Yup, today mommy found another tooth poking thru.  It's number 8!  Mommy figured a tooth would come eventually since I was sticking everything I could in my mouth and I never do that.
Also my nose was running and both grandmas said sometimes when a baby's nose runs, it means their teething.  Guess their right cause I got a tooth.  So now I have 4 on top and 4 on the bottom.

Also today I'm 14 months old.  I sure am getting older.  Mommy and daddy can hardly believe how fast time is going by and how big I'm getting.

Grandma's house

Today mommy and I celebrated Christmas with Grandma and Aunt Wendy.  I already opened grandma's and Aunt Wendy's present earlier but mommy brought grandma's presents to her.  This was the 1st chance mommy had a chance to celebrate Christmas with them.
