Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Thanksgiving!  It's my 1st holiday with family visiting all at once.  For the first time, I got to meet my Great Grandma, Uncle Rick, Aunt Christine, and cousins Tracy and Ethan.  There were a lot of people around and the house smelled really good.  But I ended up sleeping most of the day.  I'm only 18 days old for goodness sakes.   My cousin Tracy took real good care of me all day long.  Here's a picture of us.

16 days old - My Christmas photo stamp

My mommy took so many pictures of me in my striped santa outfit.  She was trying to get the perfect picture of me to put on stamps.  She wanted to send them out with her Christmas cards but ran out of time so she only got to send out a few.  Next Christmas she'll have more time to order Christmas stamps of me and she will have them on all of her Christmas card envelopes.

Aren't I silly in this picture?  You gotta love me.

5 days old - All bundled up

Mommy and daddy swaddle me up for bed at night.   I feel so comfortable and secure.  I sleep really good and barely wake up at night for a feeding or a diaper change.  Mommy and daddy have me sleeping in their room in a bassinet that daddy slept in when he was a baby.   I love being near my mommy and daddy.

I'm only 5 days old in this picture.   Mommy caught me with my mouth open but i'm not the only one in the family who sleeps like this.

Welcome Cody

On Saturday, November 3rd Ken decided to make pot roast for dinner.  Right when he finished cooking,  and we were just about to sit down to dinner when my water broke.   After 3 hours of dealing with painful contractions and maybe a few spoonfulls of dinner, we mommy finally left for the hospital.  We got to the hospital around 8:30pm.  I  was admitted immediately.  THANK GOD!  I couldn't believe how strong the contractions were.    Once I got the epidural I  felt so much better.  Time went quickly.  It seemed like I blinked and it was time to push.  After a very hard and long labor, sweet little Cody Michael was born on Sunday, November 4th at 5:40am.
We are so happy to have Cody in our lives and we look forward to sharing his life with our family and friends.  If there are any photos in this blog that you like, please let us know.  I would be happy to e-mail one to you.

Love,
Ken, Jen and Cody

2 Days before I'm here!

So mommy's cooking dinner.  Little does she know that I'm almost here. Throughout her whole pregnancy, she kept asking the doctors how big I would be.  They kept reassuring her that I would be  only 7 - 8 lbs max.  Ha-Ha, do I have a surprise for them.
By the way, why is my mommy cooking?  Shouldn't she be sitting on the couch relaxing and eating ice cream?
