More photos
Come on mom, you've got to be kidding!
Mommy's note: In my defense, I had the perfect photo for our 2010 Christmas cards. Unfortunately, and I don't know why, Costco is stating on the website that the pixel image is not a high resolution therefore by creating that card, will distort the image. UGHH! How is this possible? Ken said he had it set for the highest resolution. Growl! So, I felt the need to take Cody back out on a shockingly beautiful November day. He was so not in the mood to pose for photos but I had to take my chances to see if I could get that one great photo. He ran back and forth, looking down of course. Never likes to make complete eye contact with the camera. One day he'll probably think I'm crazy but I've captured many fun moments that will create great memories. Anyway, out of 25 photos I think I have 3 good ones. So now I just have to decide which one will be the one. Hummmm.....we'll see but here are some runner ups......
Photos coming soon!
I love you so much
Mommy took me up to bed tonight. She put my covers on me, gave me Mr. Bear and my parking spot (aka blanket) and told me goodnight. I said mommy, come here. So of course she walked over. She leaned down and I wispered, "I love you so much".
Mommy's note: That made my day. Cody is so sweet. I just love him so much!
Jamming to Disco
So mommy and daddy put this weird music on. A smile slowly creeped up on my face and wouldn't you know it my shoulders all the sudden started going up and down, my hips went from side to side and the next thing you know, I was jamming to disco. We were all dancing and singing. What a great time with my mom and dad.

Aidan's birthday party
I went to Aidan's birthday party and I had so much fun! I've decided now that I really like going to birthday parties. But mommy reminded me that it's not my party and I can't open the presents. I said "WHAT?" That doesn't seem right at all.
A fun filled day!
So this morning mommy and I were hanging out. I decided I wanted to play outside and since the weather was nice mommy was totally fine with taking me out. She got me dressed in my athletic gear. Probably because I told her I wanted to play soccer and football. You know, I'm getting pretty good at both. Mommy saw a parks and rec book that came to the house. It had soccer classes in it and after seeing me with my fancy footwork, maybe she'll sign me up.
Mommy is also dying to get me on video tape. She wants to capture these moments. Just think, last year this time I couldn't even kick a ball. Let alone throw a football. Now I can kick, catch, throw, run, tackle, and make a touchdown. But I know as soon as she takes the video camera out, I'll just stand there. Ha-Ha!

Photo time
After a warm and sunny weekend, mommy just realized that she missed a bunch of photo opps for potential christmas photos. Although she doesn't have the perfect outfit yet, she thought why not get me all dolled up with what she had and took me outside. I tried really hard to pose for her but I really wanted to just run, jump, kick my soccer ball and throw my football. I'm really getting into sports now and all I want to do is play, play, and play!!!! But mommy asked me nicely to take a few photos and since I love her....I did. But I didn't smile in all of them. Ha-ha!
Mommy's note: Will post some of the photos soon.

I'm 3 years old today!
It's my birthday today and I pretty much sang happy birthday to myself all day long. Mommy took the day off work so she and grammy G could start decorating for my party on Saturday.
She's got all these ideas rolling around and today, she's gonna get R done!
Here's some fun photos of my Birthday!

Collision at Preschool
When mommy and daddy picked me up from school today the assistant Director handed mommy an incident report. Apparently I was running on the playground but not looking where I was going. I ended up colliding with a fellow classmate. We both fell down but I got a busted lip and a bruised cheekbone. OUCH! They gave me ice to put on it, then I was pretty much back to my old normal self. I just love the playground. I just have to remember to pay attention when I run.

Happy Halloween
Today is HALLOWEEN!!!! I love HALLOWEEN!!! I dressed up as Woody from Toy Story. First we had a parade where we walked once around the neighborhood. Then we trick or treated. I got so much candy. YUM-YUM! I got to see my friends Santiago, Jena, John Parker and Sammy. Elli and Megan moved so I didn't see them this year. Santiago's daddy dressed up too. He was IRON MAN. He was so cool! I also saw a buzz lightyear. We hung out a bit but I don't know him at all.
Mommy will post photos soon.
Tackle football
Today Mr. Juan (Santiago's daddy) taught me how to play tackle football. This is the coolest thing ever. I run with the ball and Santiago has to tackle me to the ground or Santiago will run with the ball and I get to tackle him. This is so much fun. Mommy was shocked that I could play this game and daddy was really proud of me. Next time mommy will get this on video.

I'm fully potty trained!!!
I've been using the potty for awhile now and mom's been putting me down at nap time without a pull up. So tonight I told mommy I wanted to wear big boy underwear. Mommy hesitated but she let me pick out a clean pair of big boy underwear and off to bed I went.
Mommy's Note: I woke up several times throughout the night wondering if Cody was ok. Last week, he came in our bedroom a few times to wake me up so I could help him use the potty but tonight he didn't so I checked on him. Cody was out cold. I checked around his bed with my hand and it was dry. Hummm..... A few hours later I woke up and again checked on him. He was totally snoring away. I guess he's going to make it thru the night without waking up and that's exactly what he did. I woke him up around 6:15am and he was ready to use the potty. I'm so proud of Cody right now. He's really turning into such the big boy.

Birthday invites done!
Mommy's note: So about 2 weeks ago Cody decided he wanted to be Woody from Toy Story for Halloween. From that we (Cody and I) decided he was going to have a TOY STORY Birthday Party!!! We had so much fun talking about it and he's getting very excited about having a party. So after 2 weeks of thinking of his theme and how I was going to potentially decorate the house for his party I decided that I wanted to make his invitations. I just didn't love the store bought ones and unfortunately I kind of waited to long to order some really cute ones on the internet so I thought I made the invites last year why not this year. Well, last year was so much easier than this. I went from Toy Story invite ideas, to Buzz ideas to finally settling on Woody invites. Even though I wanted to have a Toy Story party I kind of chose to just stick with Woody on the invites since Cody had a woody costume and that of course makes for a good photo shoot. Ha-ha!
With the help of my sister Wendy, we came up with the perfect invites. I'll post a photo of the invites after I download them.

Mommy don't forget to turn the light on.
Daddy read me 2 books before bed tonight. Then both of them gave me kisses goodnight. A few minutes later I called out for mommy. I told her that she forgot to turn the light on. Then I pointed to my shelf with the camera on it.

Bye bye sunglasses
So today mommy took me to meet up with Aunt Wee Wee at Michaels. I've never been in this store before. As we were walking in I told mommy how sunny it was. We got in the store and mommy and Aunt Wee Wee were looking for some stuff for me. They roamed the store and paid. On our way out mommy said where's your sunglasses Cody? Oh no mommy, I said. So mommy and I went back in to search for them. What's crazy is I don't even know where I left them. Mommy never heard me drop them and I certainly didn't throw them otherwise she would have seen me or probably felt them as they hit her head. Mommy's really bummed. This is the 2nd pair I lost. Well, I actually threw the other pair in the river but mommy didn't see that. I was with daddy when I flung them with all my might. The funny thing is it's October and today was actually in the upper 80's which required us to wear our sunglasses. Heck it's the end of summer we really wasn't suppose to get a sunny day and I'm thinking we won't get any more from here on out so did I really need to keep my shades? Nahhh, I didn't think so.
Anyway, mommy left her name and number with Michael's but she knows it's a lost cause. But she'll make a call tomorrow just in case they found them over night while cleaning up the store or stocking the shelves.
BEDTIME:
So I didn't take my nap today. Like I mentioned, it was an extremely warm day. Mommy and daddy kept their windows open so it was a little warm in the house. I just couldn't sleep. So mommy and I ran a few errands, played outside, planted some mums, and watched Nemo. Mommy also made homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight. She really wanted to cook out on the grill but I can't eat the chicken and dumplings they are serving at preschool tomorrow so mommy decided to boil a whole chicken, debone it, and then with the left over juice, make homemade chicken soup. She bought some tiny noodles at Giant, cooked them and added them to the soup. Unfortunately just eating the soup made us even hotter. Anyway, to make a long story short, I missed my nap so mommy figured I'd goto sleep around 7pm. Wrong. Sure I was a little tired but the quick bath to get the sweat off of me woke me right up. Mommy finally got me in my bed but I kept coming out of my room. 1st I had to use the bathroom. Then I had to use the bathroom again. Then I had to sing her Mary had a little lamb. Then I needed some water. Oh and lastly I had to sing her another rhyme I learned on Dora. I could tell mommy was getting tired of my game. So I told her goodnight and that it was ok to close the door 1/2 way.
Mommy's note: Suddenly I heard silence. Could this be true? Could sweet little, on the go, never stops, Codyman be asleep? Ahh.....now it's time to relax.

Happy Birthday Maw-Maw
Today is Maw-Maw G's Birthday. Mommy sent her a card and I drew a picture for her. Wait till you see what I've been drawing lately. Mommy will have to post photos so you can see. I've started drawing circles now. It's really really cool.
Anyway, Hope you had a great BIRTHDAY Maw-Maw!

Preschool
Mommy's note: When I picked Cody up from Preschool, the teacher mentioned that he was doing really well on the potty. In fact he hasn't had an accident in his pull up at all. So she suggested that I bring big boy underwear in for him tomorrow. I was completely shocked. We've been working on potty training for a while now. It's kind of been up and down or whenever he was in the mood. I really couldn't get him to do it consistently. This is his 3rd week of school (he only attends 3 days a week) and I'm amazed at how well he's doing. So when I got home I dug thru his drawers to see what big boy underwear I could find. I actually bought him some last Christmas thinking he's be potty trained by spring. HA-HA! So now I have 4 pairs to bring to school with us tomorrow. How EXCITING!

Bedtime
So about a hour after mommy put me to bed, she decided to come upstairs to check on me. She slowly opened my door and I poked my head up. Mommy said, oops, sorry Cody. Goodnight sweetie. I whispered, my parking spot. Mommy looked at me and I said it a little louder. "my parking spot" Mommy finally realized that my favorite blanket was right next to me but I couldn't find my absolute favorite corner of my blanket which I call my parking spot. Probably because I park it right in front of my mouth. :) So mommy grabbed my blanket, turned it around till she found my special corner and handed it back to me. Here you go baby, here's your parking spot.
Thank you mommy, goodnight.

Riding my scooter
I'm starting to get the hang of my scooter. I'm actually putting one foot on the scooter while pushing off with my other foot. It's really cool coasting along. My buddy Santiago aka Ago (ahhh-go) has a razor scooter. He's only 10 months older but man he's really good with that 2 wheeled scooter. Mine has 3 wheels. Ago even has a ramp. He goes up and down at high speeds. I know one day I'll be really good on my scooter too. Then I'll be ready for my bike. :)

I get chocolate twice!!
Today mommy took me to see Ms. Vicki. She cuts my hair. Mommy told me if I was really good for Ms. Vicki that she would give me a piece of chocolate. Oh boy...CHOCOLATE!!!
I'm getting my haircut cause I'm getting my pictures taken at preschool on Thursday. So I was really, really good and in the end....I got my chocolate.
So I didn't take my afternoon nap today. I fell asleep right before we got home from getting my haircut. That 5 minutes was enough to bring my energy right back. Mommy is a little under the weather so she was really hoping I'd fall asleep. So I ran around the house non-stop till we picked up daddy. On the way to get daddy, I got a little crabby. I was starting to get really tired. When we got home daddy watched OSO with me while mommy quickly finished dinner. We had a really yummy dinner. We had loaded baked potatoes, corn on the cob and hamburgers. Ya...I know, it was suppose to be steak but since mommy had to pick up daddy from the metro, steaks just weren't happening. So with a full belly it was time to get in the tub tub. Right before taking my bath, mommy said it's potty time. So she stripped me down and put my on the big potty. Next thing you know, I did #2. I looked at her, smiled and said, "I get CHOCOLATE!!" So we took my bath, dried off and ran downstairs with my chocolate bar to tell dad. Dad was really proud of me. He broke off a small piece of chocolate for me and for himself. Mommy took me upstairs, got me ready for bed. I gotta wake up early tomorrow for preschool.
I LOVE CHOCOLATE!

Stinky toes
Today we picked daddy up from work. On the way home, daddy said he was hungry for some piggies. I know piggies mean my toes. I didn't want daddy to eat my toes so I said, "Cody has stinky toes"! Daddy said that's ok, I'll just put some dippy sauce on them. I laughed and said Nooooo.
I love my bed
This morning I woke up. I was sleeping in a new bed. Looking around I realized that I wasn't quite sure how to get out of my bed. So I called for mommy. She came in and jumped in bed with me. We snuggle and give hugs. Daddy came in a few minutes later and I yelled out. "Daddy, I love my new bed" Daddy and mommy laughed.

A BIG BOY BED!!!
I'm really excited. All day, something was going on. Mommy was in my room cleaning and moving stuff around. They told me I was getting a big boy bed but I really didn't know what they were talking about. So they let me take a nap in their bed today. I thought that was really, really cool. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep and when I woke up my room was all clear except for my crib. Daddy started taking it apart. I asked him: "Daddy, why are you breaking my bed?" Daddy laughed. He said, I'm not breaking your bed, I'm taking it down because you are getting a new bed. "Oh, ok daddy" Once daddy took my crib apart, I went buck wild. I ran around my room like a crazy baby. Mommy took some video footage and photos of me. She had to document me leaving my baby room behind to get a new big boy room.
Around 6pm these guys in a really, really big truck came to my door. They carried some stuff up to my bedroom. The next thing I knew, my big boy bed was up and they were making their way up the stairs with my dresser. I'm really really excited now. Mommy worked hard all day today. She washed my new sheets and quilt. I've got a construction theme and it looks really really good with my new bed. Mommy will have photos to post later.
Mommy's note: The only thing we didn't like was the delivery guys put up the bed so fast that they failed to install 12 screws. Thank goodness Ken was watching. He saw that they didn't complete the job and he also saw them throw the screws in the trash. Once they left, Ken fished the screws out. We flipped the bed over on its side and Ken then reinstalled the screws where they belonged. I really expected more from Pottery Barn but who knows if the delivery company has anything to do with the store itself. But for the amount of money we paid for that bed, the delivery people should have taken more time to put the bed together. Especially since it was a bed for a child.

Last night in my crib
So tonight was the last night sleeping in my crib. Mommy and daddy ordered me a big boy bed and it's being delivered tomorrow. Not sure what that means but I'm excited. So mommy took some photos of me in my crib. I know, I look way to big for this thing but it took mommy and daddy forever to pick out my big boy bed. Mommy said everything on the market is geared toward girls. There was girl stuff everywhere and she just couldn't find the "right" bed for me. Luckily Pottery Barn Kids had a new line that came out and mommy fell in love.
Anyway, here are some photos of me in my crib. Don't laugh. I have major bed head.
Hey I just woke up.
I'm getting up
OK, I'm ready to get out.
Going to see Maw Maw G
We went to see Maw Maw G today. Mommy scheduled a hair appointment so maw maw got to watch me for a few hours. I was really good for her and a had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, mommy and daddy's truck is sick so right now we only have 1 vehicle. Mommy would have spent the night but we had to go home and pick daddy up from the metro.
Bye Maw Maw

Pictures for mommy
When mommy picked me up from preschool today I had 2 things in my folder. One was a finger painting picture. It was a school bus that I painted YELLOW! The other was a leaf collage. I colored a few leafs and glued them to construction paper. Mommy was so excited. She has never gotten anything like this from me before. I've done some drawing at our house and mommy has all of those but this was finger painting, coloring and using glue. Mommy just couldn't believe my talents and it's only the 2nd day of school.

1st day of preschool
Today mommy and daddy took me to preschool. At first I didn't want to wake up. 6:15 is just too early. But I finally decided to roll out of bed around 6:45. Mommy had all my stuff ready to go so all she had to do was get me dressed, brush my hair and teeth and put my shoes on. My new preschool is a peanut free/nut free facility. So all mommy has to worry about it eggs and fish. when my preschool is serving those items mommy has to substitute with a food I can eat. So for example, today my school served pancakes. Mommy sent in egg free pancakes. For pm snack, they served a muffin. Mommy sent a egg free cupcake.
We left the house at 7am and unfortunately mommy was so excited making sure she had all my stuff with her that she forgot to take a 1st day of school photo of me. That's ok mommy. You can take a photo later this week.
We got to my preschool and I got really excited. The director walked us to my classroom so mommy could put my pullups, wipes, cot matt, and a change of clothes in my bin. Then we walked down the the cook and gave her my special foods. After that, we went to a special "before" breakfast classroom. I didn't want to go in at first but when I saw all the toys I was really excited. Somehow mommy and daddy slipped out of the room. That's ok, I'll see them later.
LATER THIS AFTERNOON.....
So mommy came into the classroom to pick me up. Ms. Nielle was talking to me and another boy. She told mommy that we had a little scuffle. This is normal on the first day of preschool since all the little kids don't know each other. It takes time to make friends.
Mommy's note: In Cody's class they have a tree with apples on it. Each apple has the name of a child on it. If the apple stays in the tree, the child was good. If the apple in on the grass, then the child didn't follow rules or became aggressive. I'm really hoping by next week, Cody's apple stays on the tree. :)

Rickett's Glen
Maw Maw and I hung out at the top of the mountain while mommy and daddy went for a hike to check out some waterfalls. I really enjoyed playing in the water and the sand. In the pictures below I'm chasing mommy with sand in my hand while she's trying to take pictures of me. Silly mommy.....I said no pictures!!!

We're going to Arizona!!!
I've only been to Arizona once and I was so young. So when mommy said we were flying out to Arizona to see her daddy I really didn't know what she was talking about. Mommy and daddy woke me up at the crack of dawn, 3:30 to be exact. I stayed awake for the entire hour drive to the airport. Once we got to the airport mommy and daddy parked the car, jumped on the bus to the terminal.

Splash down waterpark
Today mommy and Aunt We We took me to a water park. At first I didn't want to go. Mommy said water park, I said town park? No sweetie, you'll see. They decided to take me to Splash down. The internet said it was the biggest park in the area. Why drive to the beach when you have it right here. Of course when mommy and Aunt We We drove up they started laughing. Not so big and certainly not a beach but whatever, we're here let's give it a try. I got in free because I'm still 2. We got a locker, put our stuff in it, grabbed some lounge chairs and headed to the toddler area. At 1st I wasn't quite sure about it. But mommy took me up to a water slide and encouraged me to slide down it. I landed in the pool, got up and laughed. AGAIN!!!
I also tried out the lazy river. Mommy jumped on an inner tube and I rode on her lap. Aunt We We had her own inner tube. We were cruising down the river at full speed. Then I hung out in a wadding pool. It was about 2 feet tall. I could stand and practice going under the water by bending my kneed far enough for my head to go completely under. Aunt We We was really impressed with my new skills and mommy was so proud of me. Mommy didn't bring her camera so we don't have any photos to post but she said next time she'll have it.
We had a great time. Mommy wants to take me to another water park before the summer is over.

The POOL!!!
Man I am loving the pool. Today I went under the water at least 20 times all on my own. Part of the pool is roped off for swim lanes. Since no one was swimming laps, I would go up to the rope and mommy would tell me that she will count to 3 and when she gets to 3 to close my mouth so she could put me under the water, under the rope and come up on the other side. 1, 2, 3.....under and up.....I DID it!!!! I'm really getting good at this. I can't wait to show my dad!
Oh by the way, Amanda the life guard is really cute. I told her she was my girl. She laughed.

Pool
Today mommy and I went to the pool. While we were hanging out this little girl swam up to mommy and started getting mommy's attention. Mommy was amazed at how well she was swimming under the water. Mommy asked her how old she was and she said 3. Mommy looked at me and said look Cody, she's 3 and she's swimming under the water. I told mommy that I'm NOT going UNDER the water. Next thing you know, this little girl kept swimming and swimming around mommy so I had no choice. I went under the water. Mommy immediately clapped as I came up and said "I DID IT"!!!
Mommy's note: I'm really proud of Cody. He was a little nervous at first but he was determined to go under and show me that he could do it. I'm proud of Cody regardless if he can or can't go under the water. He's the best little boy anyone could ask for. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera today but I will get this on video soon.

Shopping for big boy beds
Today mommy took me shopping for big boy beds. She really doesn't like that I'm sleeping my crib still but unfortunately she just can't make up her mind on what bed to buy me. I know it sounds crazy but buying a headboard and footboard is expensive so she wants to make sure she likes it cause I'll have it for several years. Mommy is leaning toward a bed from Pottery Barn or the Stanley furniture "Young America" collection. Daddy like the Matrix bed. It's kind of like a bunk bed but without the lower bed. Along with the wooden frame, the bed comes with material drapes over the bed to make a castle. Some of these beds include ladders and slides. It's a neat concept and don't get me wrong.....I loved it! But mommy is not so sold. Daddy is but not mommy. :)

A chat with the nurse
As you all know, Cody went to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland on June 10th to see a very well known allergist, Dr. Wood. I waited 6 months for this appointment and unfortunately didn't have the appointment that I dreamed about for all those months. The doctor is very knowledgeable and professional and he took Cody's case very seriously which did make me happy. After the appointment, Cody had blood drawn and the doctor said I would hear from him in 2 weeks. Thankfully, my long (almost a month) wait is over. I was pleasantly surprised with the information that the doctors nurse gave me. Here's the 411. :)
We can now introduce corn, oat and soy 1 at a time in small servings. We are to monitor him for any kind of rashes, hives, itching or anything out of the norm. I thought I was giving him soy but it turns out that soy letchium is not a true soy. They want me to introduce him to soy flour and soy. As for corn, I can give him corn chips or corn kernals itself. Again in small servings but not at the same time I try the soy. Lastly, I may introduce oats to him like oatmeal or a special gluten free cereal called oatie o's. I'm beyond excited. To gain 3 types of foods to try is amazing. Our prior allergist had us avoid strawberries, blueberries and all beans and peas. We are allowed to now give him all beans (black, pinto, white, green, etc) and peas which again opens up a whole new array of foods. I'm giggling with delight.
Now we still have to avoid peanuts, tree nuts, egg, wheat, gluten, all fish and shellfish. I am fine with avoiding these foods.
The best and most surprising news from this whole conversation is that Cody will be doing a WHEAT CHALLENGE !!!!! I can't believe it. They feel that since his wheat numbers were going down (from 86 in 2008 to 46 in 2009) and the knowledge that he has potentially eaten wheat products that they feel there is a need for a food challenge. I'm beyond amazement because I never expected this good news. Of course he may not pass it but at least they are willing to try.
So to make a long story short, the conversation with the nurse was so informative. She had my 5 page narrative on Cody's complete medical history and she was actually quoting my information to me over the phone which meant alot since I worked really hard on it. I certainly didn't plan for it to be 5 pages but I wanted to make sure that I had all his history including all medicines he has taken, creams I've applied, bath soaps/shampoos, (which may clarify his eczema issues), all the foods he's eaten, avoided, all his blood tests, skin prick tests and whatever else I felt was important. Cody is our child and my job is to make sure he is healthy and happy. I'll travel wherever I have to to keep him safe. He's a wonderful little boy who deserves a chance at a great life. If it has to be a food allergy life then so be it. But if not, this momma is going to do some awesome cooking and he'll be the 1st to taste it all. :)
Thanks to everyone who has listened to me complain, whine, my ups and downs, good news and bad news. Without you all I wouldn't have the support system I so need to stay strong and learn as much as I can about food allergies.
HUGS and KISSES!!
GOODNIGHT MOMMY AND DADDY
Cody just called us from grandma and grandads house. He was calling to tell us goodnight. His sweet little voice is just too cute. Ken and I totally adore our little Cody. Goodnight sweetie, we'll see you soon.

Off to grammies house
Mrs. Lusina is on vacation for 6 weeks so mommy and daddy met grandma and grandad in PA so that they could watch me for the week while mommy works. I know I'm going to have a blast at grammies house cause my tractor and sandbox are there. We goto the town park, the pool and I get to run all around their big yard. It's so much fun there.
Thank you grandma and grandad for watching me this week.

swimming pool
Mommy took me to the pool today. I got to swim in the big pool and the baby pool. In the big pool there is a large section that 2 ft and 3 ft deep. I can walk around in the pool for a while until I have to hold onto mommy. I decided that I wasn't going to use my floaties while in the big pool and I did really good. I only went under 4 times and that was not on purpose. I tripped twice and missed mommy's hands twice but she was right there to grab me. Once I realized what happened, mommy said good job, you did it Cody. "I did it!" But I don't want to do it again. Ha-ha! Soon after, the life guard blew the whistle and all the kids had to get out of the pool. So I immediately ran over to the baby pool. I like the baby pool because I can swim without going under the water.
I really enjoy swimming and I can't wait till daddy sees me in the pool. Maybe this weekend.
