The allergist - I'm not happy!

So today was a long day.  Mommy and I left PA this morning.  We made pretty good time coming home but I had to Dr. appointments today.  One at Cranial Tech for my bi-weekly adjustment and the other is the allergist.  Cranial tech was no big deal.  Ms. Cheryl is so good to me.  But the pediatric allergist was another story.  I was referred to him by Dr. Hogan who checked me out when I had the purple feet.  Ya, I know, sounds crazy but my feet turned purple a few weeks ago.  I think I mentioned it in an older post.  Anyway, mommy got scared and took me to the Dr and she was the doctor on call.    So she looks at my feet and said that was normal.  Weird huh?  She was more concerned with my Excema and said there's gotta be a reason why I'm so flared up so she referred me to an allergist so here I am.

You know, the guy seemed nice but mommy had to do a lot of explaining.  Like why I was here at such a young age and what things she thinks flare me up.  It's really hard to say since I've had excema since I was 1 month old and I never had any food but formula then.  We hope I don't have a milk allergy but anyway, although the doctor is the expert, it was the nurse who I spent most of my time with and she was the one that pricked me.   I did like her until then.  They did 2 types of tests.  Mommy doesn't exactly know what they are called but one was were they pricked me on the back with multiple little needles.  That didn't hurt at all.  My back is so dry, I didn't feel a thing.  It was the 2nd test that really hurt.  That's were they narrowed down  the allergies and individually injected me in the arm with them to see how my body would react.  Sure enough the ones that affected me the most appeared like misquito bites on my arm.  So the nurse pricked me and OUCH!!!!  It hurt so bad.  I looked at mommy with he biggest, saddest watery eyes and all mommy could do was hold me and love me.  It was very important to find out what I was allergic to so we could eliminate it from my diet.  It turns out....I'm allergic to peanuts, wheat, egg white, trees and dust mites.  Thank goodness I'm not allergic to dogs and cats cause we have our dog bear at home and mommy's friends all have cats.   Mommy asked the doctor if those trees included PALM TREES???  NOPE!  Only the trees in this region. Well, I'm really glad this day is over and I don't ever want to come back to this doctor again.

Hanging out with the family

Today Uncle Rick and Aunt Christine came to grandma and grandad's house to pick up my cousin Tracy.  It was nice seeing them.  I haven't seen them since Easter and I sure have grown a lot since then.  Anyway, I had a nice weekend with my cousin hanging out and I hate to see her go but I'll see her in 2 weeks at the beach.

Knoebels amusement park

My grandma, mommy and cousin Tracy went to Knoebels amusement park.  It's a real old park and it's really neat.  It's in the middle of the woods and there are a lot of rides but I can't ride them yet.  I'm to little.  But we did goto the water park.  I had so much fun.

Then we went on a train ride.   We went thru a tunnel and it scared me but my cousin Tracy was there to make sure I was ok.  After Knoebel's I went back to grandma and grandad's house to get a bath.  I took my first bath in the big tub.  It was cool.  Grandma gave me some toys to play with.  I think some of them were daddy's toys when he was little.  How neat is that?

Going to see Grandma and Grandad

Today, my mom took me to see my grandma and grandad.  It was a long drive but it was worth it.
My mom drove 1/2 way and then she stopped so she could feed me.  She pulled over, jumped in the back seat and made my bottle.  When my mom looks at me and smiles, I laugh and I laughed so hard I couldn't even drink my bottle.  Mommy said, seriously Cody, we gotta go, drink up but I kept laughing and laughing.  Then mommy started laughing and then were were both laughing.
Finally I finished my bottle and we were off toward Grandma's and Grandad's.  Oh, we did stop at my great Grandma's house.  She's real nice and she said I got real big since the last time she saw me.  I told her I was a big boy now.

Any day mom!

So my mommy is taking her sweet time getting up to date with my blog.  Please stay tunned.  Mommy will get to it shortly.  Thanks for reading!!   Love, Cody

Oh, by the way, today I finally played with my rubber ducks in the tub.  I'm not in the big tub yet but I'm sure I will be soon.   Mom decided to toss in my rubber ducks to see if I would play with them and I sure did.  These toys are cool.  Mom, what took you so long to give them to me???

Hi Quinten!

Today mommy drove me to see my cousin Quinten.  As soon as we got out of our car, mommy's cousin Virginia came out of her house with Quinten in her arms.  WOW!!!  Quinten grew on us.
Quinten is really cool.  He was crawling all over his house.  He crawled fast too and he even stood up when holding to the couch, door and his highchair.  He made mommy nervous when he stood on his own on top of his bouncy.  I thought that was neat but mommy told me not to get any ideas.  Quinten says mommy.  He smiles and laughs too.  Both mommy's took photos and my mommy took some video.  Check us out!

I had so much fun that at one point, I completely fell asleep.  Check this out!

Swim class

I was so excited about Delany's birthday party that I forgot to mention that I had my 1st swim lesson at Lee district park yesterday before we went to the party.  Mommy signed me up for the pee-wee class at the indoor pool and I did a real good job.  I kicked my legs and tried to float on my back.  The only thing I didn't like was the instructor told all the mommy's and daddy's to dunk their kids so they could get use to the water.  So the instructor said 1...2..3..dunk!  So mommy dunks me and to her surprise no other mommy's dunk their babies.  So I come up gagging and caughing.  I totally wasn't expecting it.  Mommy felt bad and gave me a big hug while she patted my back.  I had to spit some water out.  Yuck!    Anyway, the class was 1/2 hour and mommy didn't have her camera so I don't have any photos to share but I will soon.

Therapy and visit to the doctor!

So today started out great and ended at the doctor.  Mommy took me to physical therapy today.  Mommy is so pleased with how far that I have come in therapy.  When I first started on January 14th, I was only 2 months old.  I could barely move my head to the left.  I only looked to the right and my flat spot was on the right side of my head.  Mommy worked hard with neck exercises a few days a week.  I still have my helmet but at least I can look both ways.   Today, I found out that I only have to goto therapy once a month so that made me so happy.  So mommy took me home. About an hour later, I was on the floor playing when mommy looked down at me.  Both of the bottom of my feet were purple.  Mommy thought that was odd so she took me over to our neighbors house and get a second opinion.  Our neighbor said they were certainly purple so mommy rushed me over to my peditrician who just happens to be located right next to my therapist.  Mommy didn't have an appointment and of course as soon as mommy got to the pedi, my feet were no longer purple.  But mommy got in anyway.  My regular doctor was not available so I saw another one in the practice, Dr. Hogan.  She was real nice.  They weighed me and I was 17lbs 13 oz.  Anyway, the doctor said the purple feet were normal.  It happens from time to time which mommy thought that was a bit odd but anyway, the doctor was more concerned about my excema than my feet.  Mommy feels like, although the flare ups are normal and mommy has been to the pediatric dermatologist, she felt like the excema was not a concern but this doctor was really focused on it.  So she gave mommy a prescription to fill.  Hopefully this will help me out.  So that's how my day went.  Mommy is so happy that I'm ok but my purple feet sure did scare her.  She's so tired and hopes that all my stuff, helmet, excema, therapy, etc will all end at once.  But mommy also knows and thanks God everyday that she only has to deal with these minor issues.  It could be so much worse.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Today is my daddy's 1st Father's Day.  Mommy and I got him some presents.  My favorite is the onsie that says:  "My dadda is #1".  We also got him a frame and mommy put a picture of me and daddy together at the beach.   We had a great day celebrating!

HOLLY SMOKES WHAT'S THAT???

So, mommy was getting ready to mow the grass and she jumped sky high when she saw this turtle hanging out in the grass.  Since we have a fenced in yard, she had no idea how he got in our backyard.  Mommy tried to feed it some lettuce but once it saw that mommy almost ran it over with the lawn mower, it decided to get out of here.

My 1st time in a restaurant highchair!

So mom and dad took me to Mike's American Grill.  I was asleep in my car seat so mom and dad just put me in the booth.  Mommy saw a cute little girl sitting at the table next to us.  She was talking to her parents when I woke up.  Mommy and daddy decided to ask for a high chair to see how I would do and boy did I surprise them.  I sat up big and tall in the restaurant high chair and mommy fed me some sweet potatoes.  Both mommy and daddy were so proud of me.  From now on, no more stupid car seat.  It's all about the high chair.  YEA!!!!

I'm 7 months old!

WOW!  I'm a "big" baby now.  Mommy says since I'm over 6 months old, I'm a big baby.  Whenever we goto the mall and see little baby's in their strollers, mommy says:  look Cody, there's an itty bitty baby.  I look over and smile at the itty bitty baby cause I'm the big baby now.

So I can do lots of things too.  I don't crawl yet but I can roll over and scooch around the house on my back.  I love to smile and laugh.  I play with my toys and throw them around.  I eat really well 3 times a day.  My favorite stage 2 foods is rice cereal and bananas, mango, chicken and apples, hearty beef stew, turkey and sweet potatoes, pear blueberry oat, strawberries, applesauce, peach cobler, and mixed vegetables.  Lots of yummy food.
